If you’ve been thinking that you can’t do meditation, then I encourage you to join one of the classes as no experience is necessary. Meditation and mindfulness is something for everyone. There are no musts or shoulds in any of the classes. Everyone is encouraged to honour their own felt experience, whilst being supported in the safe space.

Why teach your children to meditate?

Kids today face so many distractions and challenges, with digital devices providing endless temptations for distraction and multitasking. This can leave them with less energy or aptitude for learning. And because they rarely experience silence and stillness, these moments can leave them feeling uncomfortable, anxious, bored or disconnected.

Alongside the fast pace of life, the pressure to perform and navigate anti-social behaviour can also impact many young people, with their nervous systems becoming overloaded under the weight of stress and unrealistic expectations. So it’s no wonder why mental health problems are on the rise – and why there’s a growing focus on student wellbeing, emotional intelligence and resilience.

A meditation practice has so much to offer children. They can consciously learn to relax, let go of tension and allow the mind to clear. In moments of stillness, they can observe the self and bring their attention fully into the present. And as their focus and self-awareness skills grow, their self-knowledge blossoms – as they discover how to harness and mind and body’s self-regulating properties.
